Alejandra Acosta Chávez
Alejandra Acosta Chávez is a visual artist based in Mexico City. She founded the design studio EEMR, which for the past five years has specialized in graphic design and branding for arthouse cinema. She is a founder and co-director of La Ola Cine, an independent arthouse distribution company in partnership with the National Cinetec which has released films such as Angela Schanelec’s The Dreamed Path, Bi Gan’s Kaili Blues and many others.
Alejandra has produced several films which have screened at festivals such as New Directors / New Films of MoMA, IndieLisboa and many others.
She was the radio host of the popular radio show Antes de Que Nos Olviden at Reactor 105.7 FM. Her passion for music is explored through her underground bands, which have played in major music venues throughout Mexico City.
With a humanist Gestalt approach, she has specialized for more than 3 years in individual and group therapy, she is also part of the group of specialized therapists: Psicoexistencial.
Alejandra is currently teaching Film Semiotics and Graphic Design at the University of Communications in Mexico City and in her spare time likes to meditate and walk with her dog Yolanda.
